Power Investment

My mother left me her small house somewhere in Tampa. I have no use for it since I live in Orlando and my whole life is there as well. I just thought about selling the house. I left the property at the hands of my former high school classmate who is the town broker.

Six months and still no one wanted the house. It was old and needed some repairs. Sheena, the broker, told me to spend a few cash to have the house renovated and the kitchen cabinets fixed so that the resale value of the house would go up. I thought, sure; i have some funds saved up and this could be a worthy investment. She called up companies in charge of fixing specific details of the house.

One time, as I was visiting, I met the kitchen remodeling contractor she hired. Of course, we did everything online - I picked what I wanted done and according to how much I was capable to spend for it. For a moment, i marveled at the beautiful presentation. The kitchen was small (45 square meters) but it looked larger and roomier. If the house was in Miami, i would have lived in it!

A week after everything was done, Sheena called me up very excited; It’s sold, it’s sold! How much, I asked. The house was closed at twice it’s original sale value and I spent like 7% of the original price on everything. Wow! All I can say is thank you.
