Telling The Office Supplies Owner We Are Switching
I have been searching for just the right time to tell the little old lady that runs the office supply store that we no longer will need her for our office supplies. I found an online office supplies company that offers much lower prices and my boss told me that we absolutely much switch at the end of the month to the new company or he would go in and tell the lady himself. She is so nice and has been running this store since the early eighties.
I brought her some flowers yesterday and she was so thankful for them, that she gave me a free pack of pencils to take with me, because she said that I am so nice. I felt even worse about having to tell her that we were not using her office supplies store at the end of the month. I thought that if I did something nice for her, which is what the flowers were supposed to do, and then I would not feel so bad about it but that is not the case.
When I finally got up the nerve to just do it, I let her know that it was not my decision but my boss’s and he was the one who found the new office supply company that we were switching too. She told me that it was okay, she was thinking of retiring and closing the business anyway at the end of the year and this just helped her make up her mind since there are so many other companies selling office supplies now.
