I was sure that my parents would tell me that I had to return my offensive t shirts to the website that I had bought them from. I figured that it was a long shot when I got them but I was willing to try it anyway. The day that they arrived, I took them out of the box and said to my parents when they were watching television, hoping that they would be distracted from the funny t shirts I had.

My father told me that I could wear whatever I wanted because I was eighteen and I should know what is okay for me and what is not. I was so happy that he said that, but my mother was a different story. She said that I should think about the way people will perceive me, when I am wearing that kind of offensive t shirt.

I thought about what my mother had to say, and she did make sense but this was what all my friends were wearing and I wanted to wear them too. If someone did like my new funny t shirts, then they should just look the other way. I am an adult and should be able to dress like one.
