Glowing Face Paint Scared My Kids
I saw some kids with glowing face paint at the mall the other day. It was not Halloween or any other special event that would call for any type of face painting. I even looked around for a face painting booth. I could not find one anywhere.
My kids were a little frightened and I asked one of the store clerks why the kids had the glowing face paint on and she replied that there was going to be a dance held in the food court after the mall closed that evening. It had been advertised as one of those Rave dances. I am still not sure what Rave means, but I guess it is some kind of crazy dance where kids wear lots of things like glowing bracelets and then there is a black light to make it all stand out.
The store clerk also told me that the kids had to be at least sixteen to get into this dance. I guess that was good, because there would not be any little kids out till the late hours of the night.
As my kids and I were leaving the mall, we noticed many more kids with glowing bracelets and the glowing face paint entering the mall. Since the kids had heard the explanation of why the older kids looked that way, they were starting to think that they looked cool. I informed them that they should not get any ideas.
